Netflix has unveiled the caravan for the eighth and final season of Big Mouth, the hectically popular animated series that’s been breaking boundaries and diving into the hilariously awkward realities of nonage since its 2017 debut. Fans can expect the final episodes to hit the streaming platform on May 23, 2025.

The new trailer offers a hilarious and heartfelt glimpse into what’s in store for Nick, Andrew, Jessi, Missy, and their emotionally unstable crew of hormone-driven friends. While the series has always leaned into outrageous humor and uncomfortable truths, the final season appears to be wrapping things up with a mix of nostalgic reflection and trademark absurdity.
“It’s the end of puberty as we know it,” the trailer teases, as the characters prepare to graduate from middle school and step into the uncertainty of teenagehood with slightly more self-awareness — and just as much chaos. The show’s beloved hormone monsters are back in full force, as are side characters like the Shame Wizard and the Depression Kitty, promising a fittingly wild and emotional send-off.
Nick Kroll, who co-created the show and voices several of its main characters, shared his thoughts on the series ending:
“Big Mouth has always been about embracing the messiness of growing up. It’s been amazing to see how far we’ve come, and this last season is about celebrating that journey with all the laughs and lessons that got us here.”
With over seven seasons and a spin-off series (Human Resources), Big Mouth has built a dedicated fanbase and earned multiple Emmy nominations for its bold storytelling, inclusive representation, and fearless approach to sensitive topics like sexuality, anxiety, and self-identity.
